The port of Big Creek is located just west of Placencia, or 80 miles south of Belize City. It is about a 3 hour drive from Belize City. Placencia has a population of approximately 1,200 inhabitants and it has grown to be become Belize’s second tourist destination, next to San Pedro. Only a handful of people reside in Big Creek itself.
