In Belize there are officially four maritime ports of entry, namely San Pedro Ambergris Caye, Belize City, Port of Big Creek and Punta Gorda. — {mprestriction ids=”1″}

However, a vessel can be officially cleared anywhere within the country.  The yacht would be responsible for the transportation of the officials to and from where ever the vessel is.

Belize offers clearance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, of course subject to additional payment outside regular working hours.

Regulation dictates that vessels have a grace period 24 hours by which time they need to be officially cleared inbound.  Inbound clearance takes about 30 to 45 minutes if all documentation has been properly prepared.

Outbound clearance DOES entail the immigration official going aboard if he/she so wishes.
