Tried to find a spot to anchor near the SW tip of Turneffe as per notes from previous yachts and guide book. Found that we were either very far out, or, in the shallow water, the swell got very steep and it would have been too rolly. (SE 10kts)

Instead, we moved North and anchored off Blue Creek in a patch of sea-grass at 17°12.14’N / 87°56.11’W in around 7m water.  From here, there is an entry channel into the atoll complete with channel markers (Blue Creek) as well as good snorkelling in 5m water in a direct line from anchor position to Turneffe light. Additionally, there are two diving buoys nearby around the edge of the reef.  Diving here was worthwhile, but not exceptional.
