In the entire country there are basically only three marinas, all averaging 6 feet and two commercial docks, both averaging 30 feet. Belize Yacht Club marina is located in San Pedro and the other two, Radisson Fort George Hotel and Marina and Cucumber Beach Marina are in Belize City. One commerical dock in Belize and the other in Big Creek.
Cucumber Beach Marina is Belize’s largest marina. The owners maximum recommended draft is 6 feet, though I have seen 7 feet get in easily on the tide. It is located near Belize City, more precisely
approximately 5 miles south west of Belize City on the Western Highway, and 3 miles SSW of Belize City’s Commercial Port via water. Cucumber Beach Marina caters to both the commercial and the recreational boater, thereby making it Belize’s busiest marina. It has spacious timbered deck docks with 24 hour security, however the security is located ONLY at the entrance. They also have many other services and facilities to offer such as a restaurant, small museum, and a man made beach.
A good number of the recreational local boaters and over 90% of the commercial cruise ship tenders tie up their boats here and due to this their slips are pretty much booked out year round and it is next to impossible to get any space here.
